Ladders Program: Career Readiness Day

On December 13th, 2022, the Georgia Public Defense Foundation hosted the 1st annual Career Readiness Day for Ladders Program participants. The 5-hour event began at 10:00 am and included 4 workstations: Professional Headshots, Resume Development, LinkedIn Development and Mock Interviews.

The Human Resources Department, led by Ms. LaWanda Onley, worked with each participant to carefully craft their resume to their specific career choice. Participants then received a professional headshot which they can utilize as they search for internships and full-time jobs.

“If you’re looking to further your education, this is definitely the program for you,” said one participant.

In addition to a revamped resume and professional headshots, staff members conducted mock interviews with the participants, testing them on common interview questions and responses as well as do’s and don’ts during the interview process.

“Career Readiness Day was a great experience. For anyone looking to join a future cohort, this day alone made the program worthwhile. I highly recommend it.” said another participant.
