Atlanta, GA – On Wednesday, October 23, the Georgia Public Defense Foundation (GPDF) held an engaging workshop on Financial Literacy, equipping participants with critical financial knowledge to enhance their economic well-being. The workshop featured guest speakers Damaris Gibson-Taylor and Devin Carter from First Horizon Bank, who shared invaluable expertise on personal finance management.

The event began with a warm welcome and a clear overview of the day’s agenda, fostering an engaging and positive atmosphere. Participants kicked off the session with an interactive Mentimeter quiz focused on financial literacy, serving as both an icebreaker and an insightful preview of the topics to come.

Under the theme "Finance on Your Horizon," guest speakers Gibson-Taylor and Carter delivered practical insights on key financial topics, including:

  • Credit Management: The importance of maintaining good credit, building credit history, and repairing credit when necessary.
